MAC Source Communications, Inc. is a subsidiary of the Meridian Group, a privately held IT solutions provider since 1979 that is headquartered in Chicago, Illinois.

MAC Source was founded in 1997, after spinning off from CIS Corporation, where our business focused on the telecommunications secondary market. MAC Source thrived in the secondary market because of our commitment to provide a quality-refurbished product and our superior level of technical support.

In an effort to further leverage the strengths of our strong technical group, MAC Source began to sell, install and maintain entire refurbished systems. Our immediate success was recognized by installing several systems that produced significant results for our customers. However, it soon became apparent that access to and support from a new equipment manufacturer were critical to our long-term growth. In 1998, MAC Source became a distributor for Lucent Technologies, which today is called Avaya.

Since then, MAC Source has added a plethora of industry-leading products to our portfolio. In addition to Avaya communications solutions, MAC Source now offers wireless networks, data switches, routers, SIP trunking, video conferencing, security applications, virtualization and video surveillance. MAC Source has also opened several new office locations in an effort to expand our presence and support our customers’ evolving needs. As of 2012, we have 5 offices in New York State: Syracuse (headquarters), Rochester, Buffalo, Albany, and New York City. We also have a regional office in Chicago, IL and one in Holyoke, MA. MAC Source currently spans the globe with employees located throughout the U.S. and customers around the world.

MAC Source, whom primarily specialized in developing customized network solutions, developed several service offerings in 2011 by building a Network Security Practice, as well as a Contact Center Practice. Each practice is managed by a specialist and gives a wider horizon of expertise in order to suit our customers. With changing technology and industry trends it is important to communicate with our customers the value and benefits of next-generation products. By having experts in these fields we can have focused and knowledgeable attention to these subject matters.

In February 2012, MAC Source announced its expansion into the Southeast Region of the United States. MAC Source hired a number of talented individuals in the Southeast covering key positions in Account Management, Consultation and Engineering. This expansion enabled MAC Source to expand its offerings and resources into the Southeast; reinforcing MAC Source’s commitment to its local and national customers.

As the industry advances and MAC Source evolves with it, the founding principles that MAC Source was built on continue to resonate throughout the organization; total commitment to customer satisfaction. These principles led to MAC Source achieving the “Avaya Business Partner of the Year” award and has driven our consistent ranking among the top 1% of Avaya business partners nationally in total customer satisfaction.
